Science Week was celebrated in Guru Nanak public School with great enthusiasm and fervour. The main motive behind the celebration was to popularise the benefits of scientific knowledge and practical adequacy in everyday life. As part of the celebrations many science related activities and competitions were held during the week.The students exhilarated themselves while performing different activities . It also explored the creative talent of the students and gave them yet another opportunity to think out of the box.Students of different classes participated in plethora of activities. The competition started with Healthy platter ‘Cooking without Fire’ wherein students of class Vlll demonstrated their skills in cooking. The dishes prepared by the students focussed on nutritional value of food.Students of Class VI performed ecstatically in doing ‘One Minute Experiments’.Students of class VIII showcased their talents in ‘Best out of waste’ . Fabulous ideas were demonstrated using material like old newspapers ,ice cream sticks, plastic bottles.Students of Classes IV & V experienced in many ways how science can be fun by doing practical things in life . Students of class lV showed their proficiency in Crossword. Students of Class V took part in ‘Identify the Picture’ .Students got a platform to explore the hidden talent which enhances their self esteem and confidence The creativity displayed by the students was mesmerizing.Students of class Vll participated in ‘Slogan Writing Competition’. Students came up with large number of slogans on the topic ‘Say No to Plastic’. The motive behind this activity was to make students aware about the damage caused to our mother nature and to inculcate in them the importance of 3R’s (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle).The zealous participants of IX, X & XI exhibited their skills in ‘Rangoli Making Competition’. Students etched out awe-inspiring creative designs and school was resplendent with Rangoli designs.To check the knowledge of science, Inter House Quiz was conducted for classes lX ,X & XI. The aura of science and technology was promoted while engaging the students in learning new facts. Students were encouraged to display their knowledge of the scientific world .The science quiz aims to inculcate in the minds of young students a spirit of scientific inquiry and analytical. Students of Baba Fateh Singh House bagged the first position in Inter House Quiz. The result is as follows :1.Panavdeep Singh- XI2.Harnoor Kaur X- A3.Arshmeet Singh- IX- BPrincipal Mona Singh applauded the efforts put in by the students to make this science week celebration a great success.
