A Mathematics Workshop for teachers focusing on Abacus and Mental Arithmetic was successfully conducted at Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town Extension Ludhiana. The workshop was enriched by the insightful session of Jagdeep Singh, State Head of Punjab of SIP Academy, India Pvt. Ltd, who served as the key speaker. The workshop aimed at enhancing teachers’ understanding of abacus techniques and their effective use in developing numerical skills among students. The speaker explained the fundamentals of abacus learning and demonstrated how it helps in improving concentration, accuracy, speed, and mental calculation abilities in children. Bhupinder Kaur also shared her valuable insights and perspectives on abacus learning.
The workshop also highlighted innovative methods to integrate abacus learning into regular classroom teaching, thereby making Mathematics more enjoyable and stress-free for students. The workshop concluded with an interactive question- answer session.
