“Reading a good book is like taking a journey”. The library is a place to ‘Read, Imagine and Explore’. Along with instilling a love for reading, the library has a collection of plethora of books. It also has Newspapers in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Journals, weekly and monthly magazines. There is continuous updation taking place in library with regard to the latest publications (fiction and non-fiction).


Sports are a significant part of education with an aim to provide opportunities to become involved in physical activities which promote both immediate and long-term benefits. The students learn the basic skills required to play games. The children are encouraged to value participation as much as winning.

The School has well laid out playing fields. Games are compulsory. School sports teams play Inter-School matches and take part in the District level, State level and National level Tournaments. The endeavour is to identify and train new talent amongst the students. The school has facilities for many games like:

Art and Craft is an integral part of the school curriculum. The elements of art, shape and form are introduced and the children explore different methods and use their creativity to bring out amazing works of art. Experimentation and the use of various material and methods are encouraged.


The essence of music is harmonious production of melodious sound in which human beings find solace and relaxation. Music lessons are parts of the curriculum for Classes I to VIII.


Both Indian and Western are part of all co-curricular activities. Along with nuances of ‘sargam’, ‘taal’, rhythm and beat, the students learn various forms of singing. Vocal exercises, training and performance on stage help the students train and develop their skills.


Children learn different instruments like Harmonium, Tabla, Guitar, Keyboard and Drums during regular and hobby classes. The school choir is the musical face of the school in all its celebrations.


Theatre helps children to express themselves without any inhibitions. Activities in theatre classes include improvisation sessions, value-based storytelling and mime that teach life skills to children and enhance their imagination.


Putting the best foot forward is taught literally during Dance classes. Both Indian and Western dance styles are taught to students and they learn discipline in body and mind through basic of dance. Learning about ‘mudras’ and practicing yoga help the children develop flexibility. Performances on various occasions instill confidence and also provide exposure to and respect for diversity in Indian culture.


The school believes that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. The school infirmary is well equipped and is managed under the supervision of a qualified staff nurse. All students undergo regular medical check-ups by experienced doctors arranged by the school to fulfil the motive of health promotion and disease prevention.


The school owns seven buses. The school also has fleet of buses on contract for the transportation of children from different stops. The buses have separate shifts for the kindergarten, the junior and the senior wings and ply within city. Availing of bus services will be as per the enclosed bus application form. The charges differ according to distance the students travel. Parents may contact the school transport incharge for clarification of bus service.


We have two counsellors in our school to provide an atmosphere of security, warmth and encouragement to students to reach their fullest educational potential in the areas of academic, career and personal development in addition to supporting their personal and social needs.


In GNPS, Model Town Ext., there is a special emphasis on spiritual and moral education in order to help the students broaden their vision and develop their personality. The curriculum has been planned in such a way that the students benefit from the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of our country. The school has a Gurudwara Sahib and students are trained to take Hukamnama from SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB. Morning Assembly soothes the soul when the hymns from SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB are recited. Kanth Bani Competitions are organized every year to provide spiritual education. The staff and the students of GNPS, Extension to Model  Town offer the rosary of JAPJI SAHIB Paths to the GURU.
