Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town Extension, Ludhiana celebrated the 556th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with great devotion and enthusiasm. Keeping in mind the sacred occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Utsav, the Sahaj Path was solemnly held with utmost reverence. The day began with a melodious and spiritual Kirtan by Bhai Gursewak Singh Riar, followed by Shabad Gayan by the students. The soulful atmosphere created by the devotional recitations filled everyone present with divine bliss and connected them with the Almighty. Students paid tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji by spreading His divine message of harmony, humility, and equality through their poems and speeches. The staff and students of the school collectively recited 25,284 Japji Sahib Paths on this auspicious occasion. A Kanth Bani Competition was also organized in which 356 students actively participated. The students who recited the Banis orally were honoured and felicitated with trophies by Jasbir Singh Ryait, President GNPS committee and Dalvinder Kaur, Member GNPS Committee. Ardaas, praying the Almighty to shower His blessings and bestow wisdom upon the staff and students was followed by Langar. Brahmbir Singh, student of Class X, recited 241 Banis, and Hargunpreet Singh, student of Class Xll recited 141 Banis orally. Former faculty members marked their gracious presence, seeking the divine blessings of God on this pious occasion.
Principal Darspreet Kaur enlightened everyone about the invaluable teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and emphasized the need to inculcate values such as tolerance, patience, honesty and cooperation among students.
